The Left parties gave a bandh call on Thursday across the State in protest against an inclusion of the issues of Special Category Status, State capital, Polavaram project, Special Railway Zone among others.
The main opposition party YSRCP, Congress, Lok Satta along with other public and private organizations have extended their support to the bandh call. In support of the bandh, YSRCP chief Jagan Reddy who is undertaking Praja Sankalp Yatra has given a break today. The left parties have made all arrangements for the bandh. All educational, business establishments have been closed voluntarily. Though the government organizations will work according to sources, left parties have said that they would obstruct their entry into the offices. CPI has written a letter to the Chief Minister to extend support to the bandh. The left parties condemned the comments of the Chief Minister that the people would be put to inconvenience due to the bandh.
Left parties have appealed the people not to undertake any journeys today due to the bandh. They said that the buses would remain at their respective depots.
